top DC Films

There are so many fantastic movies, so how do you choose the best one? Here are my recommendations for the top five DC films of all time: Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Shazam! Let me know in the comments what you think! You can also rate these films on our rating page if you have seen them! We are happy to answer your queries! We’ll be back in a few days with a round-up of the best DC movies!

Superman

You should if you have not seen the Batman v Superman movie yet. While the first Batman film is a great movie, there are better Superman adaptations. The Justice League movie is a fool’s errand, but it’s a grand vision of the DC universe. I can’t recommend it enough. But don’t expect anything near the quality of the original. Here are five reasons to see the film and what to expect.

Batman was the first major motion picture based on a DC comic book. 20th Century Fox produced it in continuity with its TV counterpart. Twelve years later, Superman hit the big screen. After five years of haphazard pre-production, the film was finally produced. The film featured excellent special effects and an exceptional cast. Gene Hackman directed it, and Marlon Brando gave one of his best performances. Superman is still regarded as one of the greatest superhero films.

Wonder Woman

While the previous “Suicide Squad” movies were action-packed and entertaining, the latter failed to achieve the same popularity as the earlier “Wonder Woman.” The lack of a compelling, strong female lead contributed, as the film was unable to deliver the same emotional impact. Wonder Woman, however, may break the mold and become one of the top 5 DC films of all time.

It’s hard to argue with Diana’s unwavering patriotism, and she was also popular among male readers. Her heroic exploits were complemented by her comic book illustrations inspired by the Varga Girl pinups in Esquire magazine. Unfortunately, she also often had to be tied up by male or female villains. Though the film featured a variety of bondage scenes, critics were quick to criticize them. Marston claimed that these scenes resorted to suffragist imagery.

Green Lantern

In addition to Batman, there are other DC films with great potential. This is one of the best DC Extended Universe films, starring Zachary Levi as an adult superhero. Moreover, the film also stars Asher Angel as teen orphan Billy and Jack Dylan Grazer as his sidekick. It has a lot of heart and sweetness, though it can be somewhat formulaic. Unfortunately, the villain, played by Mark Strong, is a bit of a drip and the final battle devolves into CG overkill.

The Guardians of the Universe formed the Green Lantern Corps, an intergalactic police force. One Green Lantern represents each sector of the universe. The Green Lantern Corps also helps defeat the villain Parallax, who is trying to take over the universe. The film is filled with memorable sequences and a great cast of characters. But what makes it a top movie in the DC universe?

Shazam

Although the movie’s plot is fairly straightforward, the comic book references are hilarious and don’t affect the film’s overall quality. Shazam is an excellent example of how comic book movies can be funny. The Angry Santa recurring joke is hilarious and serves as a great running gag. In addition to the angry Santa, the movie also features the Shazam family and the climactic battle. The Shazam family will be explored in a future sequel, and the film ends with a song by The Ramones. Superman also makes a cameo.

Shazam is the first DC film starring a boy and is probably the most accessible of the DCEU superhero movies. As a lone wolf with superhuman abilities, Billy Batson is very relatable. The movie also references the role of a big brother in creative ways. The film shows Billy’s friends as adults, while his foster brothers are young boys with a superpower. Ultimately, this movie has everything to make it one of the best superhero films ever.
