It is fair to say that when it comes to dieting, most people fall off the wagon because the healthy foods they are eating are simply not tasty enough.

Or, even worse than that, the diet foods may be full of filler ingredients; this means while they don’t have any added sugar or salt, they will have an array of sweet ingredients, which can also spike your blood sugar and, oddly, are not as natural as sugar. 

So, when it comes to choosing a naturally healthy cuisine, whether you are dieting or simply wanting to try something new, it is best to look for one that is high in vegetables and herbs. Which cuisine ticks that box? Indian! 

With that in mind, here are five of the reasons why Indian cuisine is one of the healthier options. 

Spices and Herbs

Everyone loves spices and herbs, and this is something that Indian food is swimming in!

Indian foods include an array of different herbs and spices, including ones that found to have incredible anti-inflammatory properties, such as cumin, turmeric, and ginger. Many restaurants want to offer healthy foods but may struggle with cooking times; after all, deep frying can take seconds, whereas roasting takes a long while!

So, a plus of eating Indian food is that it practices healthier cooking options, such as steaming, boiling, and grilling. That way, you will not have to worry about the high concentration of fats that can come with deep frying. 

Probiotics

There has been a lot of talk in recent times about the gut biome and how it links to better physical and mental health. Indian foods are high in fermented foods. This includes yogurt, buttermilk, and fermented pickles, all of which are tasty, and all of which help with digestion. Great!
