Places You Should Visit

Rajmachi forts are the real beauty of this tranquil land, located in the Sahyadri mountains. It placed in the rugged hills, had a perfect plan to build to sustain for long. That’s why it still coming as a reminder of history and efforts. Not get any damages yet. It’s a sign of our culture too.

All these were built by the great Maratha emperor Maharaj Shivaji during the 17th century. It can show a famous trade route in the history pages named Borghat in Maharashtra. The elegance of Shrivardhan Fort and Manoranjan Fort is special among them.

Both are very important due to their twin fortresses characteristics. Nearby, you see a tiny hamlet in the southern part of Manoranjan. That village called Udhewadi has less than fifty houses.

Buddhist caves near the fort, mesmerising valleys of Sahyadri will push you into a wonderland. There is no entry fee to Rajmachi fort. It opens earlier with a warm welcome by sunrise in bleak ambience. You need at least two-three hours to see the whole place. And keep your valuable ID card to get entrance.

Apart from forts, we get so many other views to entertain. Tungarli Lake is one among them. It is located at Tungarli village in Sahyadri. The lake helps for irrigation purposes at Rajmachi.

Another place is Valvan lake at Valvan hamlet is an ideal example of beauty which is 10 km away from Lonavala. Best spot carrying numerous authentic waterfalls. You should not forget to capture those things on your camera.

Tiger’s leap valley, Ryewood garden etc are marvellous places to go with family. Kune waterfalls in Lonavala commence from Khandala Ghats is one of the highest waterfalls in the state. All these places have their own historical values and preciousness.            

How to Reach Rajmachi?

We can easily approach here with affordable budget. Not very difficult. 

Lonavala railway station is the most preferable way towards this ancient wonder. Takes around 15 km to reach out. Your destiny is situated in the middle of Mumbai- Pune highway. This helps to connect roadways and railways easily.

From Karjat, you have to go to Kondivade or Kondhane village, the base of Rajmachi trek. Mumbai to Rajmachi and Pune/ Lonavala to Udhewadi base village are two roadway options for you.

Mumbai airport is the nearest airway which connects the area. So, don’t hesitate about travel routes. We have many choices for that.
