Delhi University, India’s most esteemed University is famous for its Alumni, Societies, and Culture, etc. The University has around 64 affiliated colleges which have contributed immensely to raising the standards of Delhi University. Delhi University takes admits students based on their Board Examination marks. Though the process of admitting students is very ancient still it receives more than 1.5 lack applications for around 55,000 seats. The University every year releases cut-offs based on the board marks and the students which clear the cutoffs are allowed to take admission in the respective courses and in the respective colleges. Delhi University always remains in news from May till July due to its high cut-offs.
Delhi University opens a registration process during which the applying students have to fill their Board Examination marks, then after assessing the marks of the students and the courses the students have applied to, the University asks for cut-offs for courses from each college. Then each college submits the cut-offs for each course in their college for each and every category of students. The colleges also declare this cut-off on their respective sites. After this, University compiles the cut-off of every college and then releases the final list through which students take admission. The students qualifying the cut-offs visit the respective colleges and then get their documents verified. After getting their documents verified, the students have to pay the fee within the allotted time. Failing to pay the fee within the allotted time, will result in cancellation of admission. The University used to release 10 Cut-Off lists till 2015 but from 2016, it releases 5 cut-off lists after which the admission process will be closed.
DU Admission Schedule
Notification of DU Admission 2017 was released on 13th May 2017 which stated that online registrations for Cut-Off based Courses in DU will begin from 22nd May 2017. The registration process closed on 12th June 2017 at 5 PM. After which the cut-off lists were released.
- The first cut-off list was released on 23rd June 2017.
- The second cut-off list was released on 1st July 2017.
- The third cut-off list was released on 7th July 2017.
- The fourth Cut-off list was released on 13th July 2017
- The fifth Cut-Off list will be released on 18th July 2017
According to the present trend, the cutoffs every year keeps rising and will keep on rising. The North Campus colleges are the first ones to release the cut-off. North Campus was established in 1922 when the University of Delhi was first established. Currently, it has more than 80 colleges for UG and PG courses, around 16 Departments, and many Faculties. Delhi University is the dream university for students who want to pursue graduation. The students generally aim for North Campus colleges which are very well reputed and well established. Owing to the high demand, the Cut-Off for these colleges is very high. Apart from North Campus colleges, LSR (Lady Shri Ram College), Venky (Sri Venkateswara College), and a few other colleges are also very well-reputed, and therefore their cut-offs also remain at par with the cutoffs of North Campus Colleges.
