Arts and Culture

Start your morning with a visit to the Levine Center for the Arts, a cultural campus housing multiple museums and art galleries, including the Mint Museum Uptown. With 145,000 square feet of space, the Mint Museum features examples of art and design from American and international artists.

Nearby, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art showcases masterpieces from some of the most influential artists of the past century, including Picasso and Andy Warhol. Also on campus, the Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture houses a variety of visual and literary art displays and hosts music, dance, and theater performances.

NASCAR is as much a part of Charlotte’s culture as grapes are to wine. If you’re a racing fan, check out the NASCAR Hall of Fame. With any luck, you may get to check out a NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Shopping and Spas

Next to chocolate and shoes, there’s nothing girls love more than shopping. For the ultimate experience, stop by SouthPark Mall to check out the more than 150 shops, including Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and more. If you’re pinching pennies, Concord Mills and Charlotte Premium Outlets feature more budget-friendly stores, such as Banana Republic and H&M. If you’re looking for unique boutiques with local flair, head to East Boulevard in the Dilworth neighborhood.

Once you’ve shopped until you’re ready to drop, treat your feet to a pedicure at a local spa. Popular places to pamper yourself include the Spa at Ballantyne or The Ritz Carlton Spa.

Dining and Nightlife

Head over to 7th Street Public Market to grab a bite to eat at one of the many bars, bakeries, or counter-service eateries. For a more formal meal, check out Fahrenheit, which offers fantastic views of the city, craft cocktails, and new American cuisine. Other great options for a delicious meal include Amélie’s Uptown and Rooster’s Wood-fired Kitchen.

After dinner, paint the town red at one of Charlotte’s popular nightclubs, or perhaps, take in a performance by Opera Carolina, Charlotte Symphony, or Charlotte Ballet. If you’re still feeling a little peckish, make your wave to Crave. Open until 2 a.m., the late-night dessert bar is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.

To make the most of your trip, look for someplace central to set up as your home base. You’ll find a good variety of affordable hotels near Spectrum Center in the heart of Uptown Charlotte. At night, you can take advantage of the location to catch a Hornets basketball game or a live concert.

A girls’ getaway is always a good idea. For everything from shopping to nightlife, you’ll find plenty of fun things to do on your girls’ trip in Charlotte, North Carolina.
