Early life

Paige was born in Dundee, Oregon, and brought up in Dayton, Oregon, both near Portland. Her parents owned a dance studio, and she or he has danced ballet, jazz, and hip hop for over 13 years. As a teen, she appeared in a very mop commercial for Bissell. She was a tomboy while growing up, and loved the outdoors; her hobbies included fishing and riding bikes. In September 2018, VanZant married Austin Vanderford, a knowledgeable MMA fighter and a two-time NAIA All-American and national champion wrestler. In April 2012, VanZant made her amateur MMA debut at URC 32 against Morgan Hunter. She won the battle inside the primary minute via rear-naked-choke submission. Following this, in June 2012 she also turned professional against Jordan Nicole Gaza at the UWF: Tournament of the Warriors: Finale. Paige won the battle via an in-depth decision. Against Felice Herrig, she fought her next battle at UFC on Fox 15. She out-grappled Herrig to win via solid decision. Then she won her next battle against Alex Chambers via 3rd round armbar submission before fighting Rose Namajunas.

Namajunas outclassed VanZant within the battle and handed her the primary defeat within the UFC. She bounced back in her next battle as she fought Bec Rawlings and KO’ed her in the second round.

Paige then got her first main-event battle as she fought Michelle Waterson at UFC battle Night 80 -Namajunas vs. VanZant. Waterson outgunned VanZant and defeated her within the first round via rear-naked choke submission.

Following this defeat, Paige went right down to Flyweight and fought Jessica Rose-Clark at UFC Battle Night: Stephens vs. Choi. Paige lost the battle via unanimous decision as she broke her hand within the second round. thanks to this, she couldn’t outmaneuver Clark.

After a year’s hiatus, Paige returned to the UFC at UFC Battle Night 143: Cejudo vs. Dillashaw against Rachael Ostovich. She defeated Rachael via 2nd round armbar submission.

After a 19-month hiatus, she came back to the UFC at UFC 251 against Amanda Ribas. Ribas got the higher of Paige and defeated her within the first round via armbar submission. This was VanZant’s last fight for the UFC as she left the promotion to hitch BKFC(Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) in August 2020.

At BKFC Knucklemania, Paige Vanzant made her BKFC debut against Britain Hart. VanZant looked to clinch the battle. Hart looked out of the box as she dominated the match within the first 4-rounds because of her straight punch combos. VanZant made a comeback within the fifth round. She forced Hart on the defense but was powerless to knock her out. Due to this, Paige lost the battle via unanimous decision.

In her second BKFC battle, Paige fought Rachel Ostovich, who she had previously defeated within the UFC. VanZant was unable to match Ostovich in aggression and adaptability during the battle as Ostovich won round 1 despite both fighters investing heavily into power punches. Round 2 went in VanZant’s favor as she began to manage the battle range via her jabs.

Ostovich adapted to the jab and commenced countering it with overhand rights. The battle almost led to the fourth round when Rachel rocked VanZant but did not finish the work. Paige won the last round but couldn’t force Ostovich into a vulnerable situation and knock her out. In the end, Rachel won the battle via unanimous decision(49-46, 48-47, 48-47) at hand against VanZant, her second consecutive defeat within the BKFC.

Fighting style

VanZant typically attacks with aggressive grappling, then seeks to end the battle with strikes. Her style includes ground-and-pound, dirty boxing, and a large sort of clinch striking. While standing, she’s going to often move the battle toward the fence and utilize knees, elbows, forearms, punches, and throws.
