TYPES OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are substitutes for the roots of lost teeth. Implants act as an anchor to get a replacement tooth or crown or to get an entire set of replacement teeth. Ekdantam Dental clinic Provide best Dental Implants in India.

Implants are inserted directly into the jawbone.

There are 3 types of implants:

  • Root Form Implant

This really is the most common type of implant. It is a screw type of augmentation, shaped just like the root of a tooth, which is put directly into the jawbone beneath the gums. Implanting a root type implant is a surgical process which requires anesthesia. It takes about three to six weeks to your gums to heal from this process.

A root form implant — also called an endosteal implant — is used when there’s plenty of width and thickness of the jawbone. When there is jawbone rust (i.e., in case your jawbone is too thin or short), a root form implant is generally not the best choice.

  • Plate Form Implant

A plate form implant is utilized while the jawbone is too thin or short for a root form implant. The plate form augmentation is a flat, long implant that is placed directly on top of the jawbone and under the gums. Bone and tissue will gradually grow around this kind of augmentation, making it more secure. This type of implant is also called an endosteal implant.

The surgical procedure involving the implantation of a plate kind augmentation is similar to that of their root form implant. It requires approximately three to six weeks to your teeth to cure, and following that, an abutment is attached to the implant. The replacement tooth, tooth, or crowns (based on your needs) is then attached to this abutment.

Some plate form enhancements, but do not require the lengthy healing process and are immediately ready for restoration. Every person is different — only a qualified cosmetic dentist can tell you which kind of implant is ideal for you.

  • Subperiosteal Implants

A subperiosteal implant is utilized whenever there’s not sufficient bone width or height for either root or plate form implants. If there’s inadequate jawbone, a custom-made implant has to be created. This custom-made implant functions, in a feeling, as an artificial jawbone, attaching to your natural jawbone and improving its surface region.

However, unlike the plate kind augmentation, the subperiosteal implant first requires an impression is made from the region of your jawbone where the implant is going to be put.

There are two approaches to obtain this belief.

Your cosmetic dentist will make an incision into your gums and have an impression of your exposed jawbone. The impression is sent to a dental laboratory, and a custom-made implant is made.

About two weeks after, this custom-made implant is placed on your jawbone at another surgical procedure, which is similar to the one used to place both plate and root shape enhancements. Following your gums have healed, replacement teeth are then installed to this custom-made augmentation.

The second method of subperiosteal implant placement does not require surgery to make the feeling of your jawbone. Instead, a CAT scan is utilized and, through computer modeling techniques, a model of your jawbone is made from this information. The model is then sent to a dental lab and your custom-made augmentation is created.
