1. Using Hairdryer

The hairdryer can be turned to medium and keep it 2-3 inches away for a few minutes. You have to see whether the surface is softening or not. If it has not softened yet, you will have to hold it longer.

2. Hot Water

You can even use hot water to remove the tape. You will have to hold the cloth on the tape. Then re-wet it the cloth with the hot water and apply it to the tape again. You have to repeatedly do it until the adhesive is very soft.

3. Scraper or Knife

You can use a scraper or a putty knife to pull up the edge of the double-sided foam tape. When the edge lifts, you can simply pull off the tape with the fingers. Don’t pull it too hard or too quickly. If you do so, it can cause damage to the wall or wood. You will have to continue pulling the foam until and unless it comes off entirely.

4. Residual Adhesive

You should rub residual adhesive to a ball and then remove that from the wooden surface or from the wall. If any tape remains, you can pour rubber alcohol on the cloth. You can scrub the adhesive and wipe it with a clean damp cloth and then let the area dry.

5. Vinegar or Soap

Vinegar, soap, and water can also be useful to wash the residue. You can make it as a ball and then remove it from the wood or the wall. You can put on your gloves and pour the hot water into the bowl. Then you can use the hot water to remove the adhesive. Hot water makes it very easy to pull it off.

10. Tissue and flat iron

Take four layers of tissue and place it on the top of the tape. Hold the tissue steadily with your left hand and flat iron with your right hand. Once you have iron in your hand, simply iron the tissue on top of the tape. Note that the iron should be hot when you do this.

11. Packaging tape

You simply need to paste packaging tape on double-sided tape and pull it off. Do this process repeatedly until the tape gets removed. 

12. Razor blade
