Causes of Mental Stress

Since mental stress has become an alarming concern about the teenagers and the youngsters as a whole. Many researches were made to try to understand the reason why they are suffering from this condition at a very early age. Here are some of the main reasons that were identified:

Hyper connectedness. Imagine teenagers who haven’t met each other in person but are connected because of the internet and social media. Some of these young people are following people who they look up to. It does not necessarily mean that they know this person. When something bad happens to this person who is being followed by millions of young people, it will certainly affect them individually. It can be a reason for them to feel bad about themselves too. It can be a cause of depression because they have already anchored their lives on that person’s everyday post.

Technology

The computer and the other technological stuff are very helpful but there is also a downside in using these. Technology can cause frustrations among the users especially when they are used to being connected 24/7. And as you look into the percentages of people who are using the computer, you will find that most of them are teenagers. It has become part of their reality, and whenever it malfunctions, they also feel bad.

School pressure

With all the changes in the demand of the different industries, the curriculum has also adjusted. Pressure in school is not a new thing. But with the change in culture and the meaning of socialization, most teenagers are having a hard time coping with the stress in school.

Dealing with Mental Stress

Here are some of tips that can help teenagers deal with mental stress:

  • Limit the use of cellular phones, computer and the social media itself.
  • Go outside, feel the air and enjoy with some real friends.
  • Manage your time. Do not let the responsibilities in school pile up.

Mental health is as important as your physical health, learn to value it.
