Affiliate Marketing. What is it? That is the question that comes into everyone mind when they came across these two words. Affiliate marketing has been around the internet for almost over a decade. Amazon.com, the book seller, created the first large-scale affiliate program in 1996 which were a huge success and hundreds of other companies have followed since.
Without affiliates, companies that run a business in the internet will indefinitely get less income or most probably goes out of business. This will affect not only their products but also their name. No one in the world will ever get to know them except a minority that is their customers in their country or region.

In simple, affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses in which an affiliate is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through his/her efforts. It is also a promotion method that can be used to reward someone or companies for introducing new clients. The merchant usually delivers advertising banners, promotion links, websites etc.

The merchant will also grants a commission. Normally in return for a click-through to their respective websites, subscription to their service or purchasing their products which is generated via these links. As an affiliate, one can use lots of methods to sell or promote a product such as emails, websites that is own by them, words of mouth, pay per click, ebay, blogs etc. Some even used the well known Friendster, MySpace and many more friendship websites. The strength in using affiliate marketing is that they can earn money from their niches audience by up selling or cross selling. Without the need to invest in logistics, financial fulfilment or back office administration...There are lots of reasons why you failed in affiliate marketing and a few of them which are important are;

1.You expect instant results and give up before you have really tried.

2.You promote the wrong product to the wrong people.

3.You think affiliate marketing will get you rich quick.

4.You target the wrong audience.

5.You don't have a business plan.

6.You don't use ppc advertising.

7.You don't know your competition.
