Bioterrorism Preparedness

Author : andy
Bioterrorism has a history like anthrax attacks and is the most dreadful of all the probable massacres by terrorists and prompts us to instantiate the first step in bioterrorism preparedness by choosing the right safety gear like gas masks for bioterrorism protection

Despite the safety measures imposed by the government, bioterrorism is a reality and it is essential that citizens be prepared for possible attacks. Bioterrorism involves the use of harmful germs or other biological agents to create illness and fear among the general public. A number of biological weapons can be used in an attack of bioterrorism--most notably, many people are concerned with smallpox, anthrax, and ricin.

Some of these agents can be spread by people who have become infected, such as smallpox. Others, such as anthrax, only pose a threat to those who come in direct contact with them. Many of these agents can cause infection via inhalation. If there have been news advisories either on television or the radio, you can increase your safety and that of your family by wearing gas masks during reported bioterrorism attacks.

You should always be careful when you receive mail from an unknown sender, as biological weapons such as anthrax can be delivered by such means. The FBI recommends that you check the postmark on any package you were not expecting to see if it is from a foreign country.
